Deep Learning Day 1
A busy day for our F6 students on DLD 1 .
Year 12 attended a talk on getting prepared for Work Experience Week and also for the Volunteer challenge taking place later in the year. All Year 12 are to begin investigating a work experience opportunity that will best suit their post 18 plans. Work Experience week is July 19th 2020 onwards but needs plenty of forward planning to find the best opportunities. Using contacts as well as thorough research and approaches to companies should ensure quality placements are planned.
We then took advantage of our special relationship with Surrey University which allowed us to take all Year 12 students on a trip to their campus. Whilst there they attended talks on Research and Writing skills and also had a tour of the campus.
For Year 13 students DLD 1 was all about getting ready for next year with UCAS catch ups with their tutors, a talk on Higher Apprenticeships and GAP years. We were also delighted to welcome two of our previous Student Leadership Team members Rosie Woods and Adam Varney who took the opportunity to give our students invaluable advice on how to deal with the first days at University.
